INFORMATION FOR PATIENTS

How to get a referral to Harrow Health

If you are registered with a GP surgery in England and have been referred by your GP for an ADHD assessment, you have the legal right to choose the organisation providing your care, including Harrow Health.

Harrow Health manages prescribing and annual reviews directly, so your GP does not need to take part in shared care.

INFORMATION FOR GPs

How to refer a patient to Harrow Health

GPs can refer eligible adults for ADHD assessment and treatment through e-RS, with short waiting times, dedicated support and ongoing treatment pathways after diagnosis.

Prescribing and annual reviews are managed by Harrow Health, removing the need for the referring GP to enter into shared care arrangements.

A Simpler Route to ADHD Diagnosis and Care

Once your GP referral has been received, Harrow Health supports you through each stage of the process. Our team helps manage onboarding, appointment preparation, assessment arrangements and communication, so the pathway is clear from the start.

Where ADHD is diagnosed and treatment is recommended, patients can access ongoing support, including medication titration where clinically appropriate. Electronic prescribing helps make treatment easier to manage, while our team remains available to support patients and GP practices throughout the process.

Accessing ADHD Assessment Through NHS Right to Choose

NHS Right to Choose allows eligible patients in England to ask their GP to refer them to an approved provider for adult ADHD assessment and treatment. This can provide an alternative route where local NHS waiting times are long, or where patients are looking for a more structured referral pathway.

Harrow Health works with patients and GP practices to make this process as clear as possible. Patients can download the relevant referral information, take it to their GP and request a referral through the NHS Right to Choose pathway.

The referral must come from your GP. Once accepted, Harrow Health will guide you through the next steps, including onboarding, assessment preparation and appointment arrangements.

Support for GPs Referring ADHD Patients

Harrow Health has developed a referral process designed to reduce unnecessary administration for GP practices. Clear referral guidance, automated onboarding and dedicated support teams help make the process easier to manage from the point of referral.

Our service supports GPs by providing a structured adult ADHD pathway, including assessment, diagnosis and treatment where clinically appropriate. Electronic prescribing and ongoing communication also help reduce the practical burden often associated with ADHD referrals and medication pathways.

This allows GP practices to refer eligible patients with confidence, while giving patients a clearer route into specialist ADHD assessment and care.

Dedicated ADHD Support Throughout Your Journey

Accessing ADHD assessment can feel uncertain, particularly for adults who have waited a long time for answers. Harrow Health provides support throughout the patient journey, from referral and onboarding through to assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning.

Our team helps patients understand what to expect, what information is needed and how each stage of the pathway works. This includes support before the appointment, clear guidance after assessment and ongoing care where treatment is recommended.

The aim is to provide a pathway that feels organised, clinically robust and easier to navigate for both patients and GP practices.
