Our consultant psychiatrists or specialist clinicians will take you through a diagnostic assessment. You will have completed the patient questionnaires prior to appointment. The answer you have provided and those of your informants will be discussed in greater detail.
If diagnosed, our consultant psychiatrists or specialist clinicians will assess the most appropriate treatment plan for you. If medication is the most suitable route, they will take you through a step by step guide as to how and when you administer your medication.
You will be prescribed medication at this appointment using our Electronic Prescribing Service. If medication isn’t the best treatment for you then other options will be discussed, and we will signpost how to get those treatments.
Titration
Virtual Appointment With an Independent Medical Prescriber
The titration stage is where one of our independent medical prescribers will monitor your wellbeing, following receipt of your ADHD medication.
The essence of this stage is to ascertain which medication and level of dosage works best for you. Mutually agreed times will be booked into our virtual clinic to gain feedback from you on how the medication is working and to discuss any other related matters. The aim is to confidently reach a point where you are stable with both the medication and the dosage.
Once this is achieved you will be ready to be discharged back to you GP.
Shared Care Agreed with GP
Virtual Appointment with Consultant Psychiatrist or Specialist Clinician
Before you are discharged back to your GP, a shared care review will be undertaken with our consultant psychiatrist or specialist clinician. During this review your treatment, progress and future plans will be discussed.
Once they are satisfied with your progress, you will formally be discharged back to your GP. Since the service has a shared care arrangement with your practice, your GP can always contact the service for advice and guidance or where clinically appropriate, refer you back to the service.
If you are registered with a GP surgery in England and have been referred by your GP for an ADHD assessment, you have the legal right to choose the organisation providing your care, including Harrow Health.
Harrow Health manages prescribing and annual reviews directly, so your GP does not need to take part in shared care.
GPs can refer eligible adults for ADHD assessment and treatment through e-RS, with short waiting times, dedicated support and ongoing treatment pathways after diagnosis.
Prescribing and annual reviews are managed by Harrow Health, removing the need for the referring GP to enter into shared care arrangements.
